| Starting with a lump of clay, for large pieces the clay
is wrapped around scrunched up paper (the sponge in the above
photo is there to support the wet bird) |

| detail is added, continual spraying is neccessary to keep
the piece from drying out while it is being built |

| once the piece is dry it is painted with underglaze paints |
|
|
|
then it is bisque fired, then glazed and fired again.
